Menus to Ease the Stress

This may sound simple to some, and to some it may already be in practice. That is perfectly fine. One thing we have found to ease the stress through the week is to make a menu. We sit down on Saturday morning and make out the menu. We then make the grocery list for the menu and go to the grocery store for the week. Of course, there are always things that get missed or that have to be picked up later in the week because they don't freeze or keep well, but we go into the week knowing that and having a plan of attack for when that day comes. Doing this eases the stress on us as the ones cooking since we don't have to squeeze our meal decision into our morning routine. It also eases the stress on the children who may have come from a home where they didn't know where their next meal was coming from. Even if they cannot read, they know that there is a plan.
